Ace Nollywood actor, Yinka Quadri, has opened up about the emotional toll a false report of his death had on his family earlier this year.

In June, a viral rumour claiming that the veteran actor had passed away sparked widespread concern among his fans and loved ones.

Quadri, however, swiftly debunked the report in a post on his Instagram page, stating that he was “alive and well.”

Speaking in a recent interview on Oyinmomo TV, the 65-year-old actor expressed disappointment with the individuals responsible for spreading the false information.

He revealed that the baseless rumour caused his family unnecessary stress and anxiety.

“When I saw the news I said, ‘Weldone, you content creators.’ Although no one would be happy whenever people spread death rumours about them. But I leave the person behind the rumours to God’s judgment. If the person thinks that causing sadness in people’s families is an opportunity to attain success,” he said.

Quadri shared how the news disrupted his family’s usual routine, particularly for his children who reside abroad.

“Despite the fact that my children are overseas and we have constant communication every three days, they were like, ‘I still spoke to Daddy last week.’

“It got to a stage where everybody became troubled. They now started calling in the morning, afternoon, and called again at night to confirm my well-being,” he added.
