Bello-Masari

Katsina state Governor Aminu Masari has said that he will probe the administration of his predecessor, Ibrahim Shema if he is not satisfied with the explanations contained in the hand over notes made available to him.

The governor in a statement made available by his media aide Abdu Labaran said the people of the state had the right to know how their commonwealth was appropriated in view of the controversial and opaque manner government business was conducted.

“Government has no deliberate plan to probe, but will do so if we are not fully satisfied with the explanations we are given,” he said.

The governor, who made the declaration when the national leadership of the old boys association of his Alma Mata, Government College Funtua visited him, explained that the level of rot that has afflicted all the sectors of the economy has made it necessary to go all out to seek solution to the problems and reverse the decay.

He reiterated his determination to make the resuscitation of the education sector the first, second and third priority of his administration, insisting that the state has no option other than to tackle the decadence met in the education sector which is in a sorry situation.

“Katsina has consistently remained among the three worst performing states in WAEC and NECO examinations in the past decade. We must not waste time on lamentations on the collapse of the education sector. Our focus should be geared towards addressing the problem. If it means spending all our resources to regain the lost glory of our state, we will do it because the current situation is so pathetic for a state like ours with rich past history on education,” he said
