President Bola Ahmed Tinubu spoke today with former heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua following a tragic accident in Ogun State that left Joshua injured and claimed the lives of two of his associates.
This was revealed In a statement by Bayo Onaonuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, and seen by Okay News on Monday night.
The President also called Joshua’s mother, offering prayers and support, while expressinf his sympathy, and praised Joshua’s courage, discipline, and dedication to Nigeria.
He extended prayers for a speedy recovery for Joshua and for the repose of the departed souls. Governor Dapo Abiodun, who was with the boxer in the hospital, assured the President that Joshua is receiving the best possible care.
Earlier, Tinubu had shared his condolences on X, urging Nigerians to support one another during difficult times and highlighting Joshua as a national pride.
