Renowned singer-turned-actress, Tiwa Savage, has sparked conversations as she disclosed the unconventional inspiration behind her debut movie, “Water & Garri.”

The movie, which draws from Tiwa Savage’s 2021 EP of the same name, features the singer in the lead role as Aisha, a successful fashion designer, supported by a cast including Mike Afolarin and others.

During a speech, Tiwa Savage candidly shared that the idea for the movie came to her while she was intoxicated and alone, a revelation that garnered mixed reactions from movie critics and fans alike.

“This has been a labour of love for over two years. Like I have said before, this was an idea I had while I was drunk in my room, and when I brought this idea to my amazing team and they said this was just a brilliant idea,” she stated.
