No: Idris Elba Is Not the Next James Bond Actor
British actor Idris Elba has clarified that he would not be playing the next James Bond in the popular action movie.
The actor who was rumoured as the first black actor to take on the role, squashed this speculation which steamed from an oblique Tweet.
The Tweet read, “My name’s Elba, Idris Elba,” which re-echoes the agent’s famous line, “The name is Bond, James Bond.”
In a chat with Good Morning Britain during the premiere of his latest movie Yardie in London, he was asked, “Do you like it shaken or stirred?”
He replied, “Stir fried, actually.”
When asked about the new role in the 007 James Bond movie, he said, “No”.
