ABUJA, NIGERIA – The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu received the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, during a high-level courtesy visit at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, Okay News reports. The visit brought together key members of the Akwa Ibom State Executive Council, signalling a coordinated approach to strengthening security collaboration between the state and federal law enforcement authorities.
Governor Eno, accompanied by senior officials including members of his cabinet, used the opportunity to formally congratulate the IGP on his appointment. He expressed strong confidence in Disu’s leadership capacity and commended the Nigeria Police Force for its sustained role in maintaining law and order across the country. According to the governor, the Force remains a critical pillar in preserving national stability, especially amid evolving security challenges.
The governor further emphasized the importance of continued synergy between state governments and security agencies, noting that effective governance cannot be achieved without a safe and secure environment. He reiterated his administration’s willingness to support initiatives that enhance policing and public safety within Akwa Ibom State.
