Muslims in Indonesia have offered to guard churches and prevent attacks during the Christmas service, after threats and bombing of a Methodist Church in Pakistan.

It was gathered that the Muslim youths who are already on standby, vowed to provide security for their “brothers” while they are celebrating.

“If our brother and sisters who celebrate Christmas need to maintain their security to worship, we will help,” said chairman of the youth wing of the Nahdlatul Ulema, Yaqut Chiolil Qoumas.

The largest Muslim country in the world was attacked during Christmas in year 2000 with over 20 persons killed.

The country has now stepped up security to forestall any re-occurrence.
