The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has swiftly responded to reports of pre-filled result sheets in the ongoing governorship election in Kogi State.

A civil society organisation, Yiaga Africa, brought attention to the issue by uploading photos of the alleged pre-filled result sheets on X, identifying the specific polling units and areas where the incident occurred.

Yiaga Africa called on INEC to promptly investigate and address the matter to preserve the integrity of the electoral process.

Responding to the report, INEC released a statement on X, acknowledging the seriousness of the situation and assuring the public that senior officials deployed to the state are currently investigating the incidents.
