The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Saturday, April 19, presented certificates of return to the three senators and six House of Representatives members-elect in Taraba State.

The INEC National Commissioner, Alhaji Nuru Yakubu, presented the certificates to them in Jalingo.

Those issued the certificates were Taraba Acting Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Danladi, Taraba North; Emmanuel Bwacha, Taraba South; and Alhaji Bashir Barafa, Taraba Central.

The others were six House of Representatives members-elect.

Yakubu urged the people to support the commission to peacefully conclude the scheduled governorship run-off slated for April 25.

However, the All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial  candidate in Taraba State, Senator Aisha Alhassan had urged the INEC to cancel the entire elections in the state, citing irregularities in most local government areas of the state.

INEC, having declared Taraba governorship polls inconclusive, sticks to its decision to conduct fresh polls in affected local government areas in the state.
