Nollywood actress Ini Edo recently shared her thoughts on relationships, asserting that some men are intimidated by overly successful women.

During an appearance on the latest episode of “TokeMoments” with media personality Toke Makinwa, Edo delved into the complexities of gender dynamics.

According to Edo, men may feel threatened by women’s strength and success, desiring partners who embody traditional gender roles.

She suggested that certain men prefer women who are submissive and can fulfill societal expectations regarding domestic responsibilities.

“Some men are threatened by women’s strength because we can come off as if we are doing too much,” Edo explained.

“Naturally, men want to see women not so overly successful just so that they can pull you around, and you can be the woman, cook and clean, and do all the basic things that they’ve grown up to know is expected of women.”

The actress acknowledged that, at times, successful women may be perceived as competing with male egos. However, she emphasized her desire to walk beside a man rather than dominate him.

“No matter how successful I get, I don’t think I would like to have a man that I am lording over. Then what is the beauty of it? I mean, the beauty of it is me walking beside my man and him giving me instructions and protecting me,” she added.

Edo, who comes from a traditional background, expressed her belief in the importance of a man being the head of the home and fulfilling the role of protector and caretaker for women and their families.
