The Adamawa police has commenced investigations into the death of former deputy governor of Borno state, Zannah Umar Mustapha.

Mustapha had died on duty in Yola while addressing issues pertaining to internally displaced persons in the northeast.

According to an aide of the ex deputy, he was found in his bedroom “lying face up, clutching a pillow to his chest.”

Also, whitish foam mixed with traces of blood was seen coming out of his mouth.

Doctors say these symptoms may not be unconnected with suspected heart failure.
