The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) on Tuesday urged the Federal Government and oil workers to resolve their differences through dialogue.
Mr Adebayo Ajayi, the Chairman Lagos State chapter of IPMAN, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos that the oil workers’ strike would impose hardship on Nigerians.
Ajayi said that the warning strike was already affecting some of his members as they could no longer load their trucks at the depots.
He said that the strike was ill-timed as it would affect Nigerians, especially during the yuletide.
Ajayi advised the oil workers to use the opportunity of the meeting with the Federal Government representatives to resolve all the outstanding issues and return to work.
PENGASSAN and NUPENG had on Monday began a three-day warning strike.
They are demanding for the passage of the Petroleum Industry Bill (PIB) and conversion of all contract staff to regular workers in accordance with the oil and industry guidelines.
NAN reports that motorists in Abuja on Monday decried the three-day action in some parts of the country.
Many fuel stations in Abuja had long queues, prompting heavy vehicular traffic on some major roads.
However, the situation was different in Lagos as there was no queue of motorists in all the filling stations.
