Tehran, Iran — Iran’s military announced that it had launched a large wave of drone attacks targeting Israel and several United States military installations in the Gulf region, as fighting across the Middle East entered its second week.
According to a statement from Iran’s armed forces carried by the official Islamic Republic News Agency (IRNA), the Iranian Navy carried out coordinated drone strikes against what it described as “American bases and occupied territories.”
The military said the targets included the Al-Minhad Air Base in the United Arab Emirates and another United States military facility in Kuwait. Iranian authorities also stated that a “strategic facility” in Israel was among the sites hit during the operation.
Later, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), the powerful branch of the country’s armed forces responsible for protecting the Islamic Republic’s political system, announced that it had also launched attacks against the Al-Dhafra Air Base in the United Arab Emirates.
In a statement reported by the Tasnim news agency, the Revolutionary Guards said the operation struck critical United States military infrastructure at the base.
“In this attack, the American terrorists’ air warfare centre, satellite communication centre, early warning radars, and fire control radars were hit,” the Guards said.
The escalation comes as a regional conflict between Iran, Israel, and the United States continues to intensify. The current round of hostilities began on Friday, February 28, 2026, when the United States and Israel launched air strikes against Iran.
Iranian authorities said those attacks killed the country’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the highest political and religious authority in the Islamic Republic of Iran. His death marked a major turning point in the confrontation and triggered retaliatory actions by Iran across the region.
Since then, Iranian forces have carried out a series of drone and missile attacks against Israeli targets and against facilities linked to the United States military in the Middle East.
Okay News reports that the conflict has rapidly expanded beyond direct strikes between Iran and Israel, drawing in United States military bases located across several Gulf countries.
The widening hostilities have raised fears among international observers that the confrontation could develop into a broader regional war involving multiple Middle Eastern states and global powers.
Military and diplomatic responses from the United States, Israel, and their regional allies are expected in the coming days as the conflict continues to unfold.
