TEHRAN, Iran – Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps set a 30-day deadline on Monday, May 4, 2026, for the United States military to end its blockade of Iranian ports.
Okay News reports that Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baghaei outlined a 14-point plan demanding a permanent end to the war, the lifting of the blockade over the Strait of Hormuz, and an end to the conflict “on all fronts”, including Lebanon.
United States President Donald Trump said he was studying the proposal but was not sure he could make a deal with Iran. Donald Trump insisted that Iran must first end its effective blockade of the Strait of Hormuz and agree to end its uranium enrichment.
Tehran sent the proposal to Pakistan on Thursday, formulating the 14-point plan in response to a nine-point United States plan. Pakistan previously mediated a ceasefire between the two nations that began on April 8.
Iran established its blockade of the strait in response to the United States and Israel launching attacks on the country on February 28. The Trump administration maintained a naval blockade of Iranian ports despite the existing ceasefire deal.
The United States and Iran continue to attack, capture, and intercept each other’s ships in the Strait of Hormuz.
