Alan Fisher, an Irish chef and owner of a restaurant in Japan, has recently etched his name in the Guinness World Records for his extraordinary culinary feat.

Fisher now holds the record for the longest cooking hours, surpassing the previous record set by Nigeria’s Hilda Baci.

According to a statement released by the Guinness World Records organization on Tuesday, Fisher logged an impressive 119 hours and 57 minutes, exceeding Baci’s previous record by a remarkable 24 hours.

“Alan Fisher (Ireland), an owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has broken two cooking-related Guinness World Records titles,” the organization stated.

“First up, he’s claimed the longest cooking marathon (individual) after clocking in a time of 119 hours 57 minutes. That is more than 24 hours longer than the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci.”

In addition to the longest cooking marathon, Fisher also secured the title for the longest baking marathon (individual).

His baking marathon time stood at 47 hours and 21 minutes, besting the previous record held by Wendy Sandner (USA) with a time of 31 hours and 16 minutes.

The statement further highlighted Fisher’s exceptional endurance, as he undertook both challenges back-to-back, resulting in over 160 hours of continuous work in the kitchen with just over a day of rest in between.
