Ivory Coast secured a spot in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarterfinals with a 3-0 victory over Burkina Faso at the Stade de Marrakech. The Elephants will now face The Pharaohs of Egypt on Saturday,10th June 2026 at the Stade Adrar, Agadir.

Manchester United star Amad Diallo opened the scoring early in the first half, setting the tone for the Elephants’ dominant performance. Yan Diomande doubled the lead before halftime, and a late solo effort from Bazoumana Touré finalized the scoring to end the Stallions’ tournament run.
Throughout the match, the Ivorian squad left their opponents struggling to create meaningful chances.

Okay News reports that Amad Diallo was instrumental in the win, consistently breaking through the Burkinabe defense and receiving a standing ovation upon his late-game substitution. Despite a brief period in the second half where Ivory Coast slowed their pace, the outcome was never in doubt as the team maintained a disciplined defensive line.

The victory sets up a highly competitive quarterfinal between Ivory Coast and Egypt.

Burkina Faso exits the competition having been largely outplayed by a rejuvenated Ivorian side that appears to be finding its peak form.
