Nigerian actress Iyabo Ojo has pledged her unwavering support for Omowunmi, the wife of the late singer Mohbad, amidst ongoing controversies surrounding his death.

Mohbad passed away on September 12 and was buried the following day.

Shortly after, on September 21, his body was exhumed by authorities to conduct an autopsy as questions surrounding the circumstances of his death grew.

In a recent live session, Iyabo Ojo emphasized her commitment to standing by Omowunmi unless proven guilty by concrete evidence.

The actress addressed the accusations circulating on social media, urging the public to present any evidence to the authorities instead of engaging in unfounded speculation.

“A lot of people are angry that I’m supporting Wunmi. Until the law proves her guilty, until there is concrete evidence that she is guilty, I will continue to support her,” Ojo asserted.

She condemned premature judgments and highlighted the potential harm caused by baseless accusations. “Why would I want to be wicked to someone else’s child when the law has not found her guilty?”

Ojo also expressed concern over the potential damage to Omowunmi’s reputation and mental well-being, urging people to consider the long-lasting effects of unfounded accusations.

“If I join to crucify someone’s child…and tomorrow you all find out that she is innocent, do you think an apology will repair the damages caused and take away the emotional trauma?” she questioned.

The actress stressed the importance of allowing the legal process to unfold, cautioning against social media-driven judgments.

“There are laws in the country. Everyone who has said they have evidence, take it to the right authorities and let us see, not side talks,” she added.
