Jake Paul was taken to hospital with a suspected broken jaw after being stopped by Anthony Joshua in their heavyweight clash in Miami. He shared a short video of himself at the hospital on his official Instagram account.
The YouTuber-turned-boxer was knocked down multiple times and failed to beat the count, marking the first stoppage loss of his professional boxing career.
Paul was dropped twice across the fifth and sixth rounds and later said he believed his jaw was “definitely” broken. His promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, confirmed Paul missed the post-fight press conference and went to hospital for checks, adding that recovery from such an injury typically takes four to six weeks.
Despite the defeat, Paul says he plans to return after a short break and refocus on the cruiserweight division, where he hopes to challenge for a world title. The 28-year-old admitted he has been pushing himself hard for years and will now take time to heal before deciding his next move.
