JAMB Cracks Down on Illegal Admissions, Identifies 88 Tertiary Institutions in Breach

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has revealed that 88 tertiary institutions, including universities and polytechnics, conducted admissions outside the Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) for the 2022/2023 academic session.

According to JAMB, these admissions are null and void, as they violate the automated process introduced in 2017.

Despite warnings in 2020, institutions continued to offer admissions through their own portals, prompting JAMB to reiterate its stance in April 2024. The board’s crackdown on illegal admissions aims to ensure a transparent and standardized process.
