The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) says it was looking forward to establishing more examination centres in the Diaspora to cater for candidates willing to study in Nigeria. The board’s Head, Media and Information, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the disclosure in an interview with on Saturday in Lagos.

According to him, the board is determined to ensure that more candidates are given the opportunity of writing the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) within and outside the country. He said that it was also to ensure that the examination was brought closer to some candidates who had constraints coming down to Nigeria to sit for the examination. “We have plans of conducting this examination in more foreign countries like the U.S. and a few others.

“We are working with the embassies of such countries which are our contacts for the project. “The possibility of getting this actualised depends on how fast they are able to transact the arrangement and the level of sensitisation.

“On our part, we are ready. All what it takes to conduct the examination successfully are fully on ground,’’ he told The board conducted the 2016 all Computer Based Test (CBT) in eight countries alongside the one conducted in the country. Countries such as Cameroun, Saudi Arabia, U.K., Ghana, Republic of Benin and a few others are where the board is currently conducting its examination.
