James Rodriguez Signs for Bayern Munich On A Two-year Loan From Real Madrid

By Farouk Mohammed

James Rodriguez has signed for Bayern Munich on a two-year loan from Real Madrid.

The 25-year-midfielder has been linked with a move away from Madrid, with Manchester United and Chelsea reportedly leading the chase for the Colombia international.

However, Bayern have swooped in to secure his services until June 2019, with an option to make the deal permanent.

“We are very happy that we were able to secure this transfer. The commitment of James Rodriguez was the great wish of our coach, Carlo Ancelotti, after both had already successfully worked together in Madrid,” Bayern chairman, Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, said on Tuesday.

“James is a versatile player. He is dangerous, creates many chances and shoots to a great standard. With this transfer, we have been able to raise the quality of our team without question.”
