For Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, the win was a relief, although his team didn’t have complete control of the match. Martinelli had an early opportunity to score, but his shot was saved by Sevilla’s goalkeeper. However, he made no mistake just before the break, rounding the goalkeeper to put Arsenal in the lead.
Sevilla had their chances in the first half, but their finishing let them down. Jesus then added the second goal for Arsenal, maintaining his record of scoring in every Champions League group game this season.
Sevilla pulled one back with Gudelj’s header from a corner, but despite multiple opportunities, they couldn’t find the elusive equalizer, allowing Arsenal to hold on for the victory.
