President Goodluck Jonathan acknowledged prominent achievements of Governor Ibikunle at the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) rally in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on January 12, 2015, Monday.

Jonathan announced that his party would build on the good work of Governor Amosun, who has changed the face of the capital within less than four years.

It should be noted that Amosun belongs to the opposing party All Progressives Congress (APC) and supports Jonathan’s rival Muhammadu Buhari.

According to the P.M. News, Jonathan addressed the rally at the MKO Abiola International Stadium.

During his speech, the president praised Amosun for attracting 56 industries to the state, thus making it more economically viable. He also added that his party would reckon on the governor’s good work by ensuring that commercial agriculture is given top priority in his next government.

While addressing the supporters, the former governor of Ogun State, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, dispelled the rumors about abrasive relationship between him and the governorship candidate of the party, Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka (GNI).

Furthermore, he expressed his total support for PDP and its candidates and promised to collaborate with them to send Amosun out of office.

“They have been lying to you; they demolished your houses without adequate compensation. The good projects we have started in Ogun would have been continuous but the people made mistake by voting for the wrong person in 2011, now you people are suffering,

“Come February this year, we should all shine our eyes. Look for the umbrella, thumb there and by that, you have voted for Goodluck, you have voted for GNI and you have voted for good governance.

“I want to confirm to all the people of Ogun State that I endorsed Prince Gboyega Nasir Isiaka. He is our man and he is our next governor in Ogun State, come May 29, 2015. I want to let you know that PDP owns Ogun State and we have returned to take over the State,” Daniel boasted.

Recently, Jonathan has also taken part at the PDP presidential campaign rally in Enugu. Addressing the crowd the president made a loud statement. He said that the best way to fight corruption was through improved technology and not by jailing people for 300 years.

“With technology, you can track down criminals. I am not going to run Nigeria on my heartbeat but according to international best practices.

“I will continue to run this country based on the rule of law.”
