The Nigerian entertainment industry mourns the loss of veteran actor and TV producer, Jonathan Ihonde, who died at the age of 86.

Okay.ng gathered that Ihonde breathed his last at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) around 10 am on Tuesday.

Ihonde was a household name in the Nigerian entertainment scene, renowned for his exceptional contributions as an actor, dramatist, writer, and TV producer.

He was best known as the creator of the popular TV series, “Hotel de Jordan.”

“Hotel de Jordan,” which debuted in 1973 on Midwest Television (MTV), later transitioned to NTA Benin after the Federal Government’s takeover of television stations.

The series was hailed as one of the precursors of Nigerian Home Update, captivating audiences with its compelling storytelling and memorable characters.

Jonathan Ihonde is survived by his wife and children.
