Jonathan’s Campaign Team Trapped In Maiduguri

Members of President Goodluck Jonathan’s campaign team that were in Borno State for the Presidential campaign rally held Saturday, have been trapped in Maiduguri following the attack on the City by the Boko Haram sect.

The team comprising security personnel as well as journalists has been moved to a secure place by security agencies in the volatile town.

The team which was billed to have left for the Sunday, were affected by the curfew imposed by military authorities in the state capital.

One of the members of the team told vanguard; ” we are hiding and there is serious fighting going on between the insurgents and security personnel. Security men are battling to repel the insurgents.”

“Those trapped  are members of the president’s security personnel, media and medical crew.
