Liverpool Football Club has officially secured the transfer of German attacking midfielder Florian Wirtz from Bayer Leverkusen in a landmark deal worth £116 million. Wirtz, who debuted for Leverkusen at just 17, has scored 57 goals in 197 appearances and was instrumental in the club’s first-ever Bundesliga title in 2024. Since his national team debut in 2021, he has netted seven goals in 31 caps for Germany.
Liverpool’s new signing is praised for his versatility, capable of playing from the left inside position or centrally.
