Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Dr. Ibe Kachikwu, arrived Presidential Villa at 11:33am and went straight to the New Banquet Hall, for a scheduled meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari.
Kachikwu who wore dark navy blue suit with stripe tie was escorted by his Personal Assistant. Although the agenda for the meeting was not made open but it may not be unconnected with the rift between him and the Group Managing Director, GMD, of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Maikanti Baru who he accused of insubordination.
The Minister of State had also accused Baru of not being transparent in the handling of affairs of NNPC contrary to the policy of the Buhari-led government that preaches transparency and due process.
