The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja on Friday affirmed the judgment of the Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, validating Nasiru Gawuna, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, as the rightful winner of the governorship election in the state.
In a decisive move, the appellate court dismissed the appeal lodged by Abba Yusuf, the candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and incumbent governor of Kano State.
The Court of Appeal’s decision solidifies the earlier pronouncement by the Kano Governorship Election Petition Tribunal, which had upheld Gawuna’s victory.
