The Kano State Governor, Abba Yusuf, has commiserated with the family and members of the Hausa film industry and Kwara State Government over the death of a veteran actor, Usman Pategi, popularly known as Samanja Mazan Fama.

The condolence message was contained in a statement by the governor’s Chief Press Secretary and issued to newsmen on Sunday.
Yusuf recalled that Pategi’s character in the ‘Samanja Mazan Fama’ series represented discipline, resilience and moral standards for socio-cultural and national development.

He challenged all the stakeholders in the Hausa film industry to emulate the late Samanja’s virtues of national unity, and religious and cultural promotions towards fostering peace and tranquility in Northern Nigeria and beyond.

The governor prayed to Allah to grant the family and friends of Samanja the fortitude to bear the loss.

“We wish to condole with the Pategi Emirate, the good people and the government of Kwara State over the demise of the Hausa film icon (Samanja),”  Yusuf said.
