In a coordinated effort, the Katsina State Police Command, alongside the military, Department of State Services (DSS), Katsina State Community Watch Corps (KSCWC), and local vigilantes, has achieved a significant breakthrough against banditry. Joint operations conducted on April 10, 2025, in the Dandume and Danmusa local government areas resulted in the killing of five suspected bandits and the arrest of three alleged informants.

According to Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu, the first operation in Dandume’s Dutsen Wori Village, acting on intelligence, led to an ambush that neutralized five armed bandits and recovered seven motorcycles and four cars believed to be used in their criminal activities.

A follow-up operation later that morning in Danmusa LGA, based on DSS intelligence and involving the KSCWC and local vigilantes, targeted a suspected bandits’ hideout. A gunfight ensued, dislodging the criminals and leading to the arrest of three suspected informants who allegedly provided logistical and intelligence support. Two motorcycles and two bicycles were also recovered. The police are currently pursuing fleeing suspects from both incidents.
