By Adamu Abubakar Isa

Kenyans have today, started voting in presidential and parliamentary elections.

Okay.ng gathered voters started queuing before dawn across Kenya on Tuesday, optimistic about voting the right leaders to steer them for the next five years.

Delays and logistical problems have been reported in some places, but in general the process appears smooth.

Our correspondent also gathered that a large number of young people have not registered to vote in the elections on Tuesday, electoral commission figures show. Many say they are frustrated by widening inequality and an entrenched political system overseen by the same old elite.

The Presidential race in Kenya is a tight one between an ex-Prime Minister, Raila Odinga and the Vice-president, William Ruto.

Odinga, 77, popularly known as “Baba” will be contesting for President for the fifth time. Ruto, who is 55 and nicknamed “Hustler” will be contesting for the first time.
