Senator Smart Adeyemi representing Kogi West Senatorial District on Wednesday sworn-in by the Clerk of the Senate.

Adeyemi took the oath of office at exactly 10:36 am on Wednesday to replace Senator Dino Melaye who lost the election in a rerun held on 16 November 2019.

Okay.ng reported how the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Kogi West Senatorial District election inconclusive after the state elections of 16th November.

Senator Smart Adeyemi was declared winner after a supplementary election on 1 December 2019.

The final result saw Senator Adeyemi polling over 88,000 votes while Senator Dino Melaye polled over 68,000 votes.
