Kwankwaso Denies Planned Protest Over Insecurity

By Adamu Abubakar Isa

ABUJA, Nigeria — Vice Presidential Candidate of the Nigerian Democratic Coalition (NDC), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has denied claims circulating on social media that he and the party are planning a protest over the worsening security situation in the country.

In a statement released on Saturday, Kwankwaso described the message as false and urged members of the public to disregard it. He stated that neither he nor the NDC supports any action capable of disrupting public order or causing the destruction of lives and property.

Okay News reports that the former Kano State governor reaffirmed the party’s commitment to peaceful and constructive methods of addressing national challenges. He stressed that democratic processes remain the most legitimate avenue for citizens to seek change and express dissatisfaction.

Kwankwaso said the NDC remains confident of achieving victory in the forthcoming elections through lawful and democratic means. He added that the ballot box, rather than street protests, remains the proper instrument for political change in a democracy.

He therefore called on Nigerians to ignore the circulating message and remain vigilant against the spread of misinformation and disinformation on social media platforms.
