Lacazette Scores On Arsenal Debut, Thanks Iwobi

By Gbolahan Adeyemi

The Frenchman singled out the Nigerian for praise after scoring in his first game for the Gunners against Sydney FC on Thursday.

Alexandre Lacazette has appreciated teammate Alex Iwobi after netting his dream debut goal in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over Sydney FC in a pre-season game.

The striker netted within 15 minutes of coming off the substitutes’ bench to mark his arrival for a club-record fee in style.

Iwobi made a great ground down the right before squaring for the onrushing Frenchman to slot home with a low finish.

The France international who joined the Emirates Stadium giants for £52 million expressed his delight scoring his maiden goal before thanking the Nigerian for his assist.

”Happy to score my first goal with my new Team !! Thanks Alex Iwobi, great assist. #COYG #SydvARS,’’ Lacazette tweeted.

Arsenal take on Western Sydney Wanderers on Saturday as in continuation of their pre-season trip to Australia.
