Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu exercised his civic duty on Saturday by casting his vote at Polling Unit 006, Ward E, situated within St. Stephens Nursery and Primary School in Adeniji Adele, Lagos Island. He was accompanied by his wife, Dr. Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, as they both participated in the local government election.
According to okay.ng reports, the voting process commenced at 8:00 a.m. at the polling unit, where residents began electing the chairman and councillors for the Lagos Island Local Government Area. The governor arrived at the polling station around 11:00 a.m. to cast his ballot.
Joining the governor at the polling unit earlier was his media aide, Jubril Gawat, who also fulfilled his voting responsibility. The election is part of a larger exercise covering all 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas across Lagos State.
This election marks a significant moment in Lagos’s democratic calendar as residents choose local leadership that will directly impact governance and development at the grassroots level.
