In a determined effort to curb traffic-related crimes, the Lagos State Police Command has arrested 35 suspected traffic robbers in a series of targeted operations spanning Ajah to Elemoro.

Confirming the arrests on Saturday, the Command’s spokesperson, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the suspects were apprehended during various tactical operations in the Ajah area.

Those arrested on February 24 include Alao Oluwafemi, Adeshina Akinrinde, Udoh John, Afolabi Kola, Daniel Augustine, Olalekan Qudus, Shittu Lanre, and Azeez Olalekan. In the days that followed, more suspects, including Olayemi Moses, Oriyomi Ojo, Ismail Mubarak, and others, were taken into custody.

According to Hundeyin, the operations were led by tactical teams stationed in Elemoro, covering key locations such as Lekki Phase 1, Ajah, and Epe.

“This operation was conducted by our tactical team positioned in Elemoro, covering the Ajah axis, from Lekki Phase 1 down to Epe,” Hundeyin explained. “We have similar teams in other parts of the state, working tirelessly to arrest violent criminals and bring them to justice.”

When asked about the rapid success of these arrests and whether similar efforts would be extended to other high-crime areas, Hundeyin emphasized the police’s commitment to ensuring safety across Lagos.

“Every tactical team has the same mandate—to crack down on criminal activities and restore public confidence,” he assured.

The arrests reflect the Lagos State Police Command’s ongoing commitment to tackling urban crime and ensuring safer roads for residents and commuters.
