The Lagos State Police Command has officially invited Pastor Chris Okafor, the General Overseer of Mountain of Liberation and Miracles Ministries, to appear before the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti.

The summons is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. today, Monday, January 5, 2026. It follows several complaints involving allegations of multiple rape, sexual offenses, and conduct likely to cause a breach of public peace.

The Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, has mandated a comprehensive investigation into the criminal allegations.

In a statement released by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Abimbola Adebisi, the Command confirmed that an invitation letter was served to the cleric through his legal representative, with the expectation of full cooperation during the proceedings.

In response to the gravity of the accusations, the Commissioner has ordered immediate security protection for all victims involved. The police have encouraged other individuals who may have suffered similar experiences to come forward and report to the SCID, promising that the identities of all victims will be kept strictly confidential.

The Command further appealed to the public for credible information or evidence that could assist in the ongoing investigation. Reaffirming its commitment to the rule of law, the Lagos State Police Command stated that all allegations will be discreetly and thoroughly investigated, emphasizing that justice will be served regardless of the status of the individuals involved.
