Lagos State Governor, Akinwunmi Ambode will not be using sirens during his stay in office, his spokesperson has said.

According to Ambode’s media aide, Habib Aruna, the Governor will stay in traffic like other citizens instead of using a siren to clear the roads for easy passage.

“In fact, last Tuesday, when the governor was going to the airport to travel to Abuja, he was held up in traffic on Awolowo Way, Ikeja for about 30 minutes. He did not use the siren to pave way for himself,” Aruna said.

“He just remained in the traffic patiently for 30 minutes. People who saw him in the traffic were hailing him for being a good example and wished him well,” he added.

Ambode’s predecessor, Babatunde Fashola had also adopted this method and refused to use a siren when navigating round the state.
