Spending-Under-Fashola

The Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (PPA) has published a report which shows the spendings of Babatunde Fashola during his term as the governor of Lagos state.

In the report the PPA lists the numerous payments under the Fashola’s administration in 2013.

According to the report, the former governor spent N139million on the drilling of two boreholes at the Lagos House, Ikeja.

In 2013 Fashola’s administration spent  N640million for the reconstruction of a car park at the Lagos House, Marina, where the governor lived during his 8 years at office.

The relocation of cables belonging to the Power Holding Company of Nigeria at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital cost N300million while replacement of the railings of a pedestrian bridge on Carter Bridge from Ido to Idumota cost N175million.

The report discloses that Fashola also spent money on the Lagos State University College of Medicine and Ajara-Erekiti-Iragon-Ikoga Road (N220million and N619million respectively)

The construction of an unidentified multi-storey building in Onikan and a 48-bedroom hotel at Lagos State VIP Chalets took N1.2billlion and N1.6 billion.

Fashola spent N510million at the official residence of the state’s chief judge at 4 Thompson Avenue, Ikoyi, Lagos.

According to the report, Ajara Senior Grammar School, Ajara Badagry and Community Senior/Junior Secondary School, Bayeku, Ikorodu got N165million each on an 18-block classrooms.

The Lagos State Public Procurement Agency (the Agency) was established on the 2nd of April, 2012 under the Lagos State Public procurement Law, 2011 (the Law), The objectives of the Agency are to ensure probity, accountability and transparency in Public Procurement throughout Lagos State.
