American actor Lance Reddick, best known for his work on HBO’s hit series ‘The Wire’ and ‘John Wick’ movie franchise, has died at the age of 60.

According to TMZ, his body was discovered at his Studio City home on Friday morning at around 9:30 am.

While the cause of death is currently unclear, sources close to the actor suggest that he passed away due to natural causes.

Born and raised in Baltimore, Lance was a graduate of the University of Rochester where he earned a music degree. He later pursued his passion for acting by earning a Master of Fine Arts from Yale.

Lance had been on a press tour for the fourth installment of the ‘John Wick’ franchise, in which he played Charon, a concierge at the Continental Hotel.

He was also scheduled to make a guest appearance on Kelly Clarkson’s show next week.

Before his work on ‘John Wick’, Lance gained widespread recognition for his role as Cedrick Daniels, a fictional Baltimore Police Department officer, on the critically acclaimed HBO series ‘The Wire’.

He appeared in all five seasons of the show, which explored the complexities of the drug trade and law enforcement in the city of Baltimore.

In addition to his work on ‘The Wire’ and ‘John Wick’, Lance had recurring roles on a variety of popular TV shows, including ‘Fringe’, ‘Bosch’, ‘Oz’, and ‘Lost’.
