The Lagos State Government has reopened the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge in Maryland after a successful rehabilitation that lasted less than two months.

The rehabilitation, which began on July 22, 2024, was executed by the state Ministry of Works and aimed to enhance traffic flow and movement between the Mainland and Island.

According to Oluwaseun Osiyemi, the state Commissioner for Transport, the project was completed ahead of schedule, beating the initial 90-day timeline. The commissioner expressed gratitude to Lagos residents for their patience and cooperation during the rehabilitation period.

At the reopening ceremony, Deputy Governor Obafemi Hamzat relayed a stern warning to vandals and scavengers, emphasizing the consequences of damaging government property.

The rehabilitation of the Odo Iya Alaro Bridge is part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to improve the state’s infrastructure and enhance the quality of life for its residents.
