Late cultural icon, Adebayo Faleti, has been buried in his hometown, Aboye community, Oyo state.

The veteran was laid to rest on Friday before his funeral service which held at the First Baptist Church, Oyo.

Prominent personalities who attended the event include Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, Nollywood actors, youth groups, traditional leaders among others.

They all paid grandiose tributes to the deceased elder statesman, calling him an excellent ambassador and pride to the Yoruba race.

Faleti was the foremost director of the Oyo State directorate of Mass Mobilisation for Self Reliance, Social Justice and Economic Recovery (MAMSER) which metamorphosed to the National Orientation Agency (NOA).

He was famous for translating the Nigerian national anthem from English to Yoruba.

He died at 95 on July 23.

The Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism Toye Arulogun who represented Ajimobi, described the late Faleti as a “living genius and a man of impact on his generation.”
