Senate President Ahmad Lawan has administered the oath of office on Senator Abiodun Christine Olujimi as Senator representing Ekiti South Senatorial District.

Okay.ng understands that Olujimi replaces former Senate spokesperson, Adedayo Adeyeye, whose election was nullified by both the National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal in Ado Ekiti and the Court of Appeal in Kaduna.

The Appeal Court judgment, which was initially scheduled to be delivered in Ado Ekiti, was moved to Kaduna for security reasons.

The tribunal in Ado Ekiti on September 9 nullified declaration of Adeyeye as winner of the February 23 senatorial election.

In the judgment, the tribunal nullified elections in some polling units which left Olujimi polling 54,894 votes to defeat Adeyeye, who scored 52,243 votes.
