Old Trafford, Manchester, England – Leeds United secured a historic and hard-fought 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Old Trafford on Monday, April 13, 2026. The win marks the first time the Yorkshire side has beaten their rivals in a league match at the “Theatre of Dreams” in 45 years.

Okay News reports that the visitors took control early, with Noah Okafor scoring twice within the opening 30 minutes to give Daniel Farke’s side a commanding 2-0 lead.

Leeds capitalized on a shaky United defense, with Okafor finding the net in the 5th minute and again in the 29th, the second goal assisted by Brenden Aaronson.

The match took a dramatic turn in the 56th minute when Manchester United defender Lisandro Martínez was shown a direct red card for pulling an opponent’s hair. Despite being a man down, United pushed for a comeback.

Casemiro managed to pull one back in the 69th minute with a header from a Bruno Fernandes assist, setting up a frantic final 20 minutes.

United came close to an equalizer late on, with Karl Darlow forced into a spectacular save from a Benjamin Sesko header, while Dominic Calvert-Lewin cleared a Casemiro effort off the line in a goal-mouth scramble. Despite seven minutes of added time and United sending goalkeeper Senne Lammens up for a final free-kick, Leeds held on to claim a vital three points in their fight against relegation.

The result leaves Manchester United seven points clear of sixth-placed Chelsea, while Leeds move six points away from the drop zone, providing a massive boost to their survival hopes.
