The National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) has introduced a new strategic framework called the 3Cs: Collaboration, Creation, and Commercialisation.

This initiative is designed to actively promote products manufactured in Nigeria and strengthen the nation’s local manufacturing sector. The unveiling occurred during a Focus Group Meeting with key stakeholders held in Dutse, Jigawa State.

Dr. Abdulfatai Ambali, Head of Manufacturing Services at NASENI’s Hydraulic Equipment Development Institute (HEDI), elaborated on the 3Cs strategy while addressing industrialists, local manufacturers, and technology innovators at the meeting.

He explained that the framework is specifically structured to leverage local talent, scale up innovative ideas, and effectively drive the market adoption of products originating from within Nigeria.

Under the Collaboration pillar, Dr. Ambali highlighted NASENI’s commitment to engaging with individuals, various institutions, and the academic community. The goal is to translate valuable research conducted in universities into tangible solutions that can benefit the country.

Dr. Ambali expressed the agency’s concern regarding the current low level of public patronage for Nigerian-made goods. He emphasized NASENI’s active efforts to reshape public perception and increase the adoption of local products by ensuring their quality meets international benchmarks.

He stressed that fostering local patronage is crucial for achieving economic self-reliance and significantly reducing the nation’s dependence on imports. Local manufacturers at the meeting welcomed the initiative, calling for increased support to enhance their production capabilities.
