Man Jailed for Stealing Groundnut Oil in Edo State

An Edo State Magistrate Court has sentenced 22 year-old Evans Ewansesehia to one year in prison after he was found guilty of stealing groundnut oil.

According to the police, Evans stole three gallons of groundnut oil valued at N12,800 and belonging to one Mrs. Joy Adiodun.

This was after he escaped from police custody when he was arrested and detained at Ugbowo Police Station for stealing an apron containing the sum of N12, 000 from one Mrs. Victoria Imayehor at Uwasota area on December 2, 2015.

The judge however gave him option fine of N30, 000 each for the two-count charges.
