Man sentenced to death by hanging for kidnapping in Jigawa

A man identified as Datti Buba, has been sentenced to death by hanging for kidnapping and killing two of his abducted victims.

Okay Nigeria understands that a high court in Dutse, Jigawa State, gave the ruling after he was found guilty of the crime.

The 39-year-old was charged by the state before the court with three counts of criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and culpable homicide.

Ubale Ahmed, the presiding Judge, sentence Buba to death by hanging for killing two of his victims in Jigawa.

The suspect confessed to the court that he and two others, Adamu Sabo and Usman Idris, both in Bauchi State, committed the crimes.

Meanwhile, the court freed the two other suspects of the charges filed.

The presiding Judge giving the judgement said the offences contravene sections 97, 221, and 273 of the Penal Code.

Buba was then sentenced to five years imprisonment for criminal conspiracy and 10 years for kidnapping.
