Manchester United has released a statement regarding forward Marcus Rashford following discussions with manager Erik ten Hag, addressing the recent controversy surrounding the player.

Rashford was notably absent from United’s FA Cup victory over Newport County due to illness, as stated by the club.

However, the situation took a turn when Rashford was reportedly spotted in a nightclub in Belfast, leading to questions about his absence and commitment to the team.

In response to the developments, Rashford held talks with manager Erik ten Hag at the club’s training ground on Monday.

Manchester United has since provided an update on the situation, confirming that Rashford has taken responsibility for his actions.

In the statement released by the club, it was stated: “Marcus has taken responsibility for his actions. This has been dealt with as an internal disciplinary matter, which is now closed.”

With the internal disciplinary matter resolved, Rashford has returned to training and is once again available for selection.

Manchester United is set to face Wolves on Thursday, with Rashford expected to be part of the squad for the upcoming fixture.
