Marcus Rashford has said an emotional farewell to Manchester United following his loan move to Aston Villa, marking the end of a twenty-year journey with the club that began in its youth academy.

In a heartfelt message shared on Instagram, the 27-year-old forward expressed his gratitude to Manchester United while revealing his excitement for the new challenge ahead at Villa Park.

“I would like to thank Manchester United and Aston Villa for making this loan deal happen.
I was lucky to have a few clubs approach me but Aston Villa was an easy decision – I really admire the way that Aston Villa have been playing this season, and the managers’ ambitions. I just want to play football and am excited to get started.
I wish everyone at Manchester United all the best for the rest of the season.”

Rashford’s message comes as he prepares to embark on a fresh chapter after spending his entire professional career at Manchester United, where he rose through the ranks and became a key player.

Since making his debut in 2016 under Louis van Gaal, Rashford has been a fixture in the squad, playing a pivotal role in several campaigns and becoming one of the club’s most recognizable faces.

However, his time at Old Trafford has been marked by a mix of highs and challenges.

This season, under new manager Ruben Amorim, Rashford found himself increasingly on the sidelines, despite scoring seven goals in 24 appearances in all competitions.

His last appearance came in November before being excluded from the squad for the Manchester derby in December.
