Nigerian writer and activist, Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie have expressed her thoughts with the idea of bride price in Nigerian marriages.
The writer was answering a question about bride price during an evening with young people in Lagos, She her dad didn’t receive any bride price during her wedding, he just collected 10kobo to make it symbolic.
She also revealed she is not a fan of bride price because it ruins things. She said:- “I am not a fan of bride price.
I think we should get rid of the whole idea of money in marriage, it ruins things. We are not selling anybody”.
